While I was  doing realtime captioning for a student attending veterinary school for four years, I realized my love for dogs.  I began volunteering for a local shelter fostering dogs.  I ended up adopting one of my foster dogs which I named Reeses.  Reeses had a lot of health issues from being form a puppy mill and I obviously had the connections to get her the care she needed.  She was the sweetest, most lovable Rottweiler mix ever!  But of course I would say that.

In July 2010, sadly, I had to say goodbye to my best friend.  I wasn’t ready for another dog yet, but I missed the companionship of having one.  By now , with technology advancing, I perform 90% of my work from my home.  I decided to start sitting for dogs in my home.  People seemed to like this idea, and why not?  Instead of being in a certain size cage 24/7 and dogs constantly barking and not knowing how much time and attention would be spent on their dog they can stay with me in a house with a fenced in yard and be treated as if they were my own.

Word has gotten out that “Aunt Kimmy” spoils them.  I love having them here!  They can sleep in bed with me and they are allowed to snuggle with me on the couch.  They have free rein of my home  and if given permission from their owners,  we go for walks around the neighborhood.
